Thanks to Charles Cushman, a photographer with a very expensive camera in the 1940's, we have these images of what New York City looked like during the 1940's . . . in color. Rarely do we get to these sorts of images in color and when we do it's almost never "every day life". These pictures really do say a thousand words.
Also, really cool seeing all the "new" buildings before they became sunkissed, dilapidated and run down.
