Predominantly played by some guy/girl with a laptop producing all sorts of sounds with his/her nifty contraptions; electronica and sounds similar to it is never really associated with actual instruments. Here's a band producing the same type of music out of real instruments. Pretty impressive to say the least. 1:07 mark you can sense the crescendo in effect--definitely reminds of being at some party, waiting for the big drop.
