All You Can Eat

In January of 2001 I visited New York with a couple of friends. We tried to catch the Knicks vs. Pacers game at Madison Square Garden but were unsuccessful in finding legitimate scalped tickets. After realizing we wouldn't be able to attend the game, we decided to grab some lunch. Located directly around the corner from Madison Square Garden was a Sbarro. If you don't know what a sbarro pizzeria is, then you shouldn't be reading this blog.

Anyways, once we entered the Sbarro, I couldn't get over how familiar it looked. We ordered food, couldn't find a booth upstairs so we ventured downstairs to the additional sitting area. Then it hit me! This is the Sbarro that they used to film the "All You Can Eat" scene from Krush Groove. I remember it perfectly, The Fat Boys were parading around the establishment stuffing their faces full of calzones and pasta dishes and pizza slices!

I remembered the stairs perfectly. In fact, while i was staring at the staircase a couple began descending the steps and the woman lost her footing, totally neglecting to read the huge yellow cone that read "Cuidado piso mojado" or "Caution wet floor" on the reverse side. The slippery, tile based stairs aided in her throwing her tray of food directly up in the air and sent her falling to a stumbling decline of those very steps. Food splashing her upper body as her ass mimicked a slinky bouncing from step to step til she sat motionlessly at the foot of the stairwell. Spaghetti strained throughout her hair as if to recreate a Norman Rockwell painting of a child unwilling to eat her mother's cooking. I sat there staring as her significant other raced down the stairs to come to her aid. All the while holding back chuckles because situations like these only called for empathy. Of course, as soon as they left, the entire bottom floor of The Fat Boys' very own Sbarro erupted in laughter.

Here's a better look at the inside of the Sbarro. Unfortunately, I don't have footage of the fall, but hopefully The Fat Boys entertain you just as well.
