The Dewey Decimal System.
Since libraries no longer exist (I didn't actually check but I'm pretty sure they've all closed down), where did the Dewey Decimal System run off to? Those annoying 2"x3" cards with all the book's info and corresponding decimal point numbers that made it easy to find your book on the shelves was useful for absolutely nothing else. Aside from confusing the hell out of every elementary school kid, Dewey didn't do much else but collect dust.
