Here's a really interesting interview by Rolling Stone Magazine with Nas titled TDK Chronicles. For those youngins out there, TDK was a brand of blank cassette tape you could buy to record your favorite music off the radio on. There were other brands that made blank cassettes, like Maxell and Sony, but no one bought those because they were too expensive.
In this clip, Nas reminisces about radio recording and making his own mixtapes. Yes, we used to make our own mixtapes. Loooong before the MP3 was invented in 1994, we actually had to record songs off the radio if we wanted to replay it later. And damn you Julio G for chiming in at the end of all my favorite songs and ruining my home mixtapes!
